On Wednesday, the reigning monarch met with the UK PM Rishi Sunak at Buckingham Palace in London. King Charles III: The Reigning Monarch Resumes His Royal Duties!

The pics depict King Charles III  decking out in a spiffy blue suit. He looked cheerful while shaking Sunak’s hand. “Wonderful to see you looking so well,” Sunak lauded Charles, who replied jokingly, “It’s all done with mirrors.” The PM added, “We’re all behind you. The country is all behind you.”

Moreover, the monarch expressed gratitude for the overwhelming love from the public. And guess what? He got so emotional! The King said, “I’ve had so many wonderful messages and cards. It reduced me to tears most of the time.” Afterward, they discussed how King Charles’ illness had paved the way for cancer awareness charities.

The King praised such organisations as “wonderful.” There was a sense of dismay in the public when Buckingham Palace broke the news of his cancer diagnosis on February 5, 2024. The official statement disclosed that King Charles III had begun regular treatments and would postpone public-facing duties.

However, “His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual,” it read. Furthermore, the King will continue to receive government papers daily and maintain his weekly audience with the UK PM. Also, the family will make a few adjustments if his doctors advise him to minimise in-person contact.

Meanwhile, Prince William and Queen Camilla will take on more public engagements to cover for Charles’ absence. By the way, a royal source confirmed that King Charles III shared his diagnosis to “prevent speculation.” And to raise awareness about the worldwide impact of cancer.
