King Charles is in a dilemma and might consider severing ties with the Duke of York if he refuses to vacate his royal residence. Charles wants his brother to move into the smaller Frogmore Cottage where Meghan and Prince Harry previously resided. But Andrew doesn’t seem to agree.
As per the royal correspondent, Kinsey Schofield, “King Charles could threaten to sever ties with Prince Andrew. If the non-working royal refuses to leave Royal Lodge to relocate to Frogmore Cottage. The Times is citing an unnamed friend of the King. That friend claims that the King said he is willing to pay for his brother to live comfortably out of his private funds from the Duchy of Lancaster.”
Even though Prince Andrew has the lease, the main strings are with Charles. While speaking to GB News, Andrew currently lives in a 30-room mansion and is not a working royal. So, the funds spent on him are appropriate at this moment. A friend of King has claimed that he is willing to pay for his brother to live comfortably out of his private funds from the Duchy of Lancaster.
However, if Prince Andrew refuses to move, then King Charles will be forced to reassess the whole package of support he provides. Kinsey also said that they are stressed, and Duke of York is not moving even after multiple eviction conversations.
