It’s going to be 14 months of sobriety for Mama June. And the road to redemption was not an easy one for her. Even though it was difficult, it brought June back to the normal track. She lost a huge amount of money back when addicted. Moreover, her family was drifting away. Mama June opened up about the life back during addiction and life now when she has recovered. Mama June: June Opens About Her Struggle With Drugs
June has a lot of things in her bags these days. Drugs have been away from her for quite a while, and her family is back. The 41-year-old star talks about how 50 people started their journey of going clean last February. However, now there are only four people who have stayed clean throughout. The star also explained how the pandemic brought chaos to everybody’s life. There was a lot of free time ad no drugs to do. It, therefore, led Mama June to linger on food. Indeed, that was the reason for her massive weight gain as reported by FoxNews.
Mama June further explained the one moment that led her life to drugs to Access Hollywood. She stated, “I was around drugs all my life. My brother-in-law had got busted several times for selling dopes. My sister has had pill addiction after surgery. The addiction does run in my family.” Being surrounded by people addicted to drugs caused her to use the same. June started the drugs with Meth (also called crane). She slowly picked her hands-on cocaine as well, and then there was no way back.
Mama June: The Last Year Of Addiction Costs June Nearly $1 Million
June also explained how drugs took away everything from her. She stated, “I went to rehab with a $75 to my name, and I came out with nothing.” However, the star built back her empire with a lot of effort. June further explained the difficulty she had to face during the last year of addiction. The star got up every morning and went to the pawnshop. Her hands were always filled with diamond rings and Pandora bracelets. That brought her foot stuck in heavy loans.
June recalled, “I would say the last year of our addiction, probably a good $900 thousand.” It was almost nearly $1 million. She explained that the spinning of the money went on until she got all off. There were heavy crash transactions to Mama June’s dope man. Well, she stated, “we had two dealers; one dealer was close to $80 thousand.” Hopefully, now the star is back to living a normal life.
Mama June Is Working On Her Relationships With Family Members
June called out her relations with daughters to be a work in progress.’ The addiction took away everything from her. She is now mending her ways back. June also explained, “They (the children) were always on my timeline, and right now, I feel like I have to be on their timeline.” The situation sucks to June. However, she is left with no other option than to make her children believe that she is sober. Mama June also says that she wants to kill the person she has become. However, it is not in a physical manner. She claims never to have suicidal thoughts. She has successfully killed the addiction part of hers. We hope her for a lifelong sobriety journey ahead.
