Mama June Shanon’s family has had their share of unhealthy junk traits. However, nothing lasts forever, so the toxic cycle needs to break. Fans have seen June struggle with weight. More so, they never had a problem, but they were always keen to work towards it. Similarly, in the June 27th episode, Honey Boo Boo explained that she was willing to go under the knife. Besides, the 17-year-old is ready to transform and give herself a new look. Similarly, it looks like the others are taking inspiration from Alana and going afterward to the same surgery. Recently, Mama June’s sister, Doe Doe, announced on her social media that she and June’s niece underwent the Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty.
Mayo Clinic describes this surgery as a new way to lose invasive weight. The doctors insert a suturing device into the patient’s throat down to the stomach. Then, the endoscopist place suture into the stomach to make it smaller. The procedure leads to weight loss, but it limits the amount of food one can eat. The procedure also requires the patient to keep their diet in check. As Doe Doe shared the news with her followers, she thanked Dr. Steven Batash for the surgery. Mama June: Honey Boo Boo Shares Details About Her Gastric Sleeve Procedure
The first one to mention the surgery was Honey Boo Boo. Mama June Shannon’s daughter wants to lose weight, and for that, she wants to undergo bariatric surgery. However, June shaded Alana and explained that she was too young to go under the knife. However, as Honey Boo Boo is under the custody of her sister Pumpkin, they have decided that Alana will undergo surgery. Moreover, the Gastric Bypass is supposed to happen after Alana’s birthday in late August. Meanwhile, the Endoscopic Sleeve costs around $13K, a high amount.
Besides, Honey Boo Boo explained she weighs 275 pounds and wants to reach the target of 150 pounds. Hence, that will help her to live a healthy life. However, Mama June’s daughter did say that she was too lazy to exercise. Nevertheless, Alana’s boyfriend, Dralin, has promised to be on her side. Moreover, the boyfriend will get the surgery as well.
