Ex- EastEnders star Danny Dyer seems to have moved on from the soap opera. The former star was seen donning festive clothes while shooting a new Christmas movie. He seemed to be sharing the scenes with another telly legend and The Big Bang Theory fame, Kunal Nayyar.
The soap veteran is filming for the upcoming flick titled, “Christmas Karna,” directed by Bend It Like Beckham mastermind Gurinder Chadha. The movie also features Eva Longoria, Hugh Bonneville, Billy Porter, Boy George, and others. Dive in to know all about it!
EastEnders: Danny Looks All Festive for Upcoming Project!
In the snaps, the EastEnders legend is wearing a red and gold Christmas jumper with cute deer and snowflakes on it. However Danny doesn’t seem to be in the festive spirit. He looks dead serious as he leans out of a black cab during a scene. It looks like the Mick Carter actor has buried himself in multiple projects lately.
Along with shooting for this Christmas movie, the former EastEnders actor has been busy shooting for the sequel to “The Football Factory,” which is to be released 20 years after the original. Additionally, the sports and crime centric flick which was released back in 2004 followed the tale of Danny’s character Tommy Johnson. The original movie dives into the gritty life of Tommy, a Chelsea football hooligan who lives for violence, sex, drugs & alcohol.
Furthermore, Tommy and his football-loving friends decide to change their ways after a fight with a rival team turns violent. Apart from Danny, the movie also stars Frank Harper, Tamer Hassan, Tony Denham, Roland Manookian, and Neil Maskell. So, how did it turn out? The movie didn’t quite hit the mark and got a bunch of bad reviews. It earned a 38% rating on Rotten Tomatoes with an average score of 4.70 out of 10.
Nevertheless, a sequel has been green-lit, with Danny returning as Tommy. After leaving EastEnders, Dyer became a free agent with his character meeting a tragic end in the 2022 Christmas Day special. Danny’s Mick Carter vanished into the sea in a quest to save his true love Linda. Subsequently, his loved one had assumed him dead with Linda getting the shock of the lifetime.
