Delana had a tough life. Her mother, Sharon, left her, so Delana’s cousin had to raise her. When Sharon reappeared, she kidnapped a six-year-old Delana for a year. If that wasn’t enough, Delana was pregnant at 20 with an abusive partner. Though the My 600 Lb Life star escaped her partner, the baby was a full-term stillborn.
Her tragedy doesn’t end there. Delana married again and had a kid. But then, her husband divorced her and took custody of their son. The star married one more time and had a daughter, Savannah, but again, her husband was abusive. This time, Delana won Savannah’s custody. But the mother-daughter fought when Savannah was 12, and she moved in with her uncle.
Delana met her now-husband Josh while dating online. Josh helped her move around when she was 646 lbs. The star wanted to lose weight, but it was a tough journey. Initially, she gained 5 lbs instead of losing 50. However, Delana was determined and lost weight to reach 578 lbs. She qualified for surgery as well and left the show at 539 lbs.

She lives in Hendersonville, North Carolina, and is healthy and happy. The star even goes on dates with her husband. She left the show promising to reduce 20 lbs every month, and it seems she is continuing on the path.

Delana was excited to take the trip to Houston to meet Dr. Now. The My 600 Lb Life star really looked forward to losing weight. It was an impromptu trip while running errands. But the March 20 episode teaser shows the cast stepping in to help Delana.
Fifty miles into the Houston trip, Delana’s car broke down on the busy highway. Cars were moving fast around her while she was “stuck in the middle” of the highway. It was a dangerous situation as Delana had limited mobility. So, the crew decided to help her.
The crew helped move Delana out of the danger zone, breaking their “rule of never intervening.” After Delana was safe, she asked James if the car had overheated.
