TLC has reality shows of all varieties. There are family shows, couple shows, and even ‘individual’ shows. It also has ‘elimination-based’ contest shows. However, My 600 LB Life is different from these. The show follows the weight-loss journey of overweight individuals.
Patrick Macon was a cast member on Season 11. The star had weighed 657 pounds in the beginning. But he wanted to reduce his weight as he felt he was a burden to his wife and daughter. Dr. Now had tried to help the star, but Macon initially didn’t put much effort. He then tried again and was able to qualify for gastric sleeve surgery. Now, the news came in that the star had developed Cancer. Fans are wondering how the star is doing.
My 600 LB Life: How Is Patrick Macon’s Current State?
Patrick wasn’t trying hard when he first started taking Dr. Now’s help. The My 600 LB Life star could only lose 40 pounds against a 130-pound target. So he was given two more months to lose 100 lbs, but Patrick gained 25 lbs instead. After a referral to a weight-loss clinic, Patrick got down to 591 Lbs. He also qualified for a gastric sleeve operation.
Although, fans had gotten to know that the star was suffering from Cancer. Ryan uploaded a Gallbladder Cancer Awareness post on his Facebook account. He posted this in February 2023, the Gallbladder Cancer Awareness month.
Ryan’s wife, Amanda, also shared this post. And she had even added a caption. Amanda wrote – “You are not alone babe! You have an army behind you! We love you Patrick Macon”. Fans had appreciated Amanda’s sweet message and support for her husband.
And, some family and fans also commented on the post. One of the comments read – “Sending prayers and hugs!! Love you.” Another fan expressed their support –“Keeping you in thoughts and prayers!!!”
Nobody has confirmed when the My 600 LB Life received his diagnosis. However, people assume it was after the show since Patrick didn’t mention anything on screen. And currently, he has kept mum about it.
My 600LB Life: Will Patrick Continue His Weight Loss?
Since they heard the news, My 600 LB Life fans have been praying for Patrick. When he initially appeared on the show, he was 657lb. Patrick didn’t put in much effort to lose weight. And even Dr. Now had pointed that out. He wanted Patrick to work hard to shed weight.
However, the TLC star lost weight and qualified for a Gastric-sleeve surgery. He had weighed 531lbs when the audience last saw him. Fans were pleased that Ryan was finally putting in the effort. But now they are worried about him as he has Cancer.
