Pawn Stars Rick Harrison’s Legal Battle With His Mother

Rick Harrison, the well-known star of the reality series Pawn Stars, encountered one of the most challenging battles with his mother. In February 2022, Rick was under controversy when his mother, Joanne Harrison, filed a lawsuit against him. She accused Rick of forcing her to sign over business interests shortly after she awoke from a coma.  

Joanne also said that Rick has cut off the monthly payment of  $25,000, which is from Richard Harrison’s share. She said it stopped coming at the end of 2020. The legal battle became even uglier as it also included a restraining order against Rick to prevent the sale of family assets. The legal battle has brought a lot of spotlight to Rick and his family. In January 2024, fentanyl dealt Rick Harrison, the man who brought Pawn Stars into millions of homes, his most significant blow by claiming the life of his 39-year-old son, Adam Harrison. The postmortem analysis revealed traces of fentanyl and methamphetamine in his system. This whole incident highlights the widespread impact of America’s opioid crisis.

Rick confirmed the news and issues with a powerful statement about the national epidemic: “Yes, I can confirm Adam died from a fentanyl overdose. The fentanyl crisis in this country must be taken more seriously. It seems to be flowing over the borders, with no action being taken. We must do better.”

Since Rick lost his son, he made it a personal mission to create awareness about the dangers of fentanyl. He called for authorities to take more decisive action against the crisis. His words after Adam’s passing reflected both pain and determination to mend the situation of the nation.

While navigating loss and conflict, Rick found a ray of hope in his personal life again. In June 2024, he confirmed his relationship with Las Vegas nurse Angie Polushkin, nearly four years after his divorce from Deanna. Rick and Angie started dating in January.
