Prince William gave us all a glimpse into his home life with Kate Middleton and their three kiddos. Recently, the Prince of Wales visited Woodgate Valley Urban Farm in Birmingham. There, he spilled the beans about having pet guinea pigs back home. The 41-year-old dad was caressing a guinea pig with a kid at the farm. He mentioned, “These guys are pretty cool. We’ve got guinea pigs at home, which are not like this.” Dive in to know the full scoop!
Prince William: Future King Gets Hands Dirty With Guinea Pig Care!
As funny as it sounds, the future King admitted to spending his life cleaning their cages! Prince William revealed that his kids always forget to do it. He added, “The ones we’ve got at home, they’re off. You have to keep them constantly stroked and looked after.” Will is indeed on the roll with the job of being a good dad! During his visit, William toured the farm while chatting with staff and volunteers.
Woodgate Valley Urban Farm is all about helping kids who need extra support with education and mental health. Hold up—there’s more goodwill to be shared with you all! The six-acre community farm runs several therapeutic programs that have really boosted kids’ mental well-being. In addition, Woodgate Valley Urban, funded by the National Lottery, supports small groups of kids who aren’t in school and looks after siblings from a local children’s hospice.
Anyway, this cute guinea pig revelation popped up when Prince William visited St Michael’s Church of England High School in Rowley Regis. Turns out 12-year-old Freddie Hadley had extended an invite to William by posting a letter on X last October.
The Prince Gets Real Over Mental Health
Furthermore, Prince William chilled with the lad and some other guys from the school’s Matrix Project. The venture shines a spotlight on male mental health. The group launched the #AmIManlyEnough campaign last year, combatting the taboo around guys talking about mental health.
He got real with the students about why he’s passionate about mental health work. He revealed, “I never set out to look into mental health, particularly male mental health.”
Earlier, the royal was more keen on tackling issues like homelessness, depression, and addiction. Then, he had his Eureka moment when he realised it all came together as a mental health piece. Moreover, Will revealed that seeing the scary stats on young men’s suicide rates pushed him to do something about it.
