Queen Elizabeth would have turned 98 yesterday, April 21. While she is not with us anymore, that doesn’t mean her son wouldn’t remember her. King Charles III and Queen Camilla would have had a quiet but meaningful day to remember her, spilled their old butler.

Grant Harrold, who used to work for Charles and Camilla, revealed that they probably wouldn’t do anything publicly. But they’d definitely raise a toast to her and spend time reflecting on her life. Grant Harrold also revealed that family members would place flowers on Elizabeth’s tomb. He added, “Sometimes on royal anniversaries, flowers are sent to royal graves. So there will be flowers on the tombstone.” Moreover, the former butler mentioned serving Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip. The man caught wind of the late Queen’s amazing sense of humour back then.

Harrold said, “Sometimes you couldn’t tell if she was being serious or not… and sometimes she’d catch you off guard.” On a lighter note, Harrold shared a sweet anecdote about the Queen’s sense of humour. He recounted one chapter in Scotland when Elizabeth had to literally chase her guests to dinner because they were too busy chatting. Grant tried to keep up without being too rude as a butler. So, he followed her only to get a wink from her afterward. She was in on the joke, folks!

Now, let’s talk about our late Monarch. Queen Elizabeth was born in 1926 and rested in peace in 2022 aged 96. People remember Liz for her grace and dedication during her incredibly long reign. She reigned for 70 years, and her tenure spanned 15 prime ministers. Furthermore, Grant recollected how she always managed to light up a room. “You walked in, and you could spot her, and she was always so polite, so polite, always smiling and joking.”

The Queen was also quite meticulous about every detail, even at state dinners. Meanwhile, Charles cruised to a church near Balmoral Castle with Queen Camilla. Yep, the same day that marked Queen Elizabeth II’s would-be 98th birthday. His appearance came weeks after Easter Sunday service at St. George’s Chapel, where Charles even mingled with well-wishers.

The Prince and Princess of Wales remained MIA with their kids while Kate underwent chemotherapy for her cancer diagnosis. Despite his own health crisis, Charles has been super supportive of Kate. He even let Kate share her diagnosis publicly.
