In her interview, she said, “It’s a combination of things. When we’re spending, we determine how much to invest based on the viewers that will show up. If they don’t show up, we consider the reason to advance to put money in something that doesn’t do as good as we had hoped. Obviously, critical acclaim is essential too, but we’re really about working on stretching our investment dollars as far as we can and do good on our investors’ money – it’s theirs, not ours.”

Victor Fresco, the creator of this horror-drama, planned the next season of the series even after its cancellation. He has an idea about what the next installment of the series will look like. In his recent interview, he revealed what he would like to see in Santa Clarita Diet Season 4. He said, “We believed it would be fun to do a season with Joel and Sheila in the identical boat — what that would look like. I feel like this would be more satisfying for us and better for our fans too.”
He added, “Joel could have a distinctive attitude. We would want him to be a bit unusual in how he addresses things. It will be exciting to see him with that unleashed and what he transforms into. So not just who he kills and how he kills but what sort of person he becomes.”
