Janelle and Kody Brown have come a long way in their relationship on Sister Wives. Now, they are almost on the verge of separating as more episodes are unfolding in the new season. Amidst all this, they are going through some personal crises, too. For instance, Janelle had made it known that she was in financial trouble.
At the same time, Kody has also talked about money problems in the episode now. Fans found it odd and wondered how that was possible. That’s because their show is one of the most popular ones on TLC, and they also have individual jobs of their own. But it looks like Kody has been spending a lot on unnecessary political backing! Here’s all about it.
Sister Wives: Kody Brown Spends A Fortune Funding Republican Candidates! Facing Money Troubles?
From the very beginning, Janelle Brown was very excited and serious about building her home on Coyote Pass. She even took extreme measures when trying to make her dream come true. So, the Sister Wives star also moved into an RV. But after her marriage hit a rocky road, she was in tears while saying she was “50 and had nothing,” while referring to her savings.
At the same time, Kody Brown had also been quick to blame others when it came to his financial troubles. He said he was facing a monetary crisis because people were stalling to build on his lot. But now things have come into the limelight. As per TheSun, Kody has funded a lot of Republican candidates from 2020. He has spent as much as $ 6,473.01 in all these years.
The Federal Election Commission has records that Kody Brown has made as many as 40 contributions since 2020. Some of his latest ones have been to Vivek Ramaswamy on August 2023. Also, he backed up Winred, which is a fundraising space for republican parties. Brown also contributed to the Trump Make America Great Again Committee in 2020.
Sister Wives fans were baffled at this revelation. That’s how they understood why Kody had been postponing to start building on his Coyote Pass property. After all, he has been busy making payments to these political candidates and committees. Gwen Brown had also previously complained about Robyn and Kody’s irrational spending habits in one of her YouTube videos.
Sister Wives: Things Getting Better? Kody & Janelle Clear Off Coyote Pass Dues
Sister Wives Season 18 is showcasing the events from early 2022. Hence, a lot has changed since then. For instance, there were reports confirming that Kody and the rest of the Browns are no more in debt when it comes to the Coyote Pass. He had initially bought the land in 2018 for $820,000. The star still had dues to clear.
Now, there is confirmation that as of June 2, Kody and Janelle have collectively cleared the dues of the land. It turns out they owed the agency $146,200. But there is no more debt as the former couple made the final downpayment of $23,800. Chances are that Kody and the remaining family might just start building there soon with Janelle.
While Christine made it clear she didn’t want her parcel when she moved to Utah, Kody bought it from her. However, there is no confirmation whether Meri still owns her land parcel or not. She, too, moved to Utah to focus on her clothing business and her mother’s Heritage Inn, which she took over from her after her passing.
