Divorces have never been easy. But the infamous Sister Wives divorce was even worst. Lately, Kody hasn’t been happy because of the divorce. Adding to that, he didn’t get the desired control of the money and house he thought he would get. Usually, in plural marriages. If the marriage falls by default, all the authorities go to the patriarch. But in this case, things were completely upside down. Christine’s house title is completely under her name. The initial decision of the couple was that they would split everything 50-50. But Christine, being the nicer one, said that she would take everything in the house, sell it off, and Kody can have her share from Coyote Pass. Good deal, right?
But Kody, like usual, wasn’t satisfied with this. He had the illusion that Christine would take all the money and would pay off all the dues he owed for the rest of the Coyote Pass. But Christine is smarter than her ex-husband! This is when Kody actually confessed his crime. He accepted in front of the cameras that the couple intentionally kept the house under Christine’s name. This was to create a loophole in case Kody was behind bars. He also adds that in most cases, in plural marriages, the houses should be owned by the wife. This is because if the husband is in jail, the government would not confiscate the property.
The Sister Wives fans were shocked that the patriarch was hiding his assets from IRS and then confessed it on television. Apparently, the polygamist knew that whatever he was saying would be telecasted someday.

The patriarch complained about Christine selling off their house. Yet, fans think Christine is being generous as she can file for equal distribution, so Kody is really lucky to get off this easily. Apparently, the couple is spiritually wedded and not legally. So they get to keep only their individually owned assest. Hence, the house was under Christine’s name, which falls under her portion.
