The Teen Mom cast has expanded in number with all its spinoffs. One of the spinoffs, The Next Chapter, has announced its new season. And while fans were happy about it, the following news shocked and angered them.
A social media account announced one big piece of news about the new season’s cast. Apparently, the network would be replacing Ashley with Mackenzie McKee. Both the fans and Ashley learned about the casting on social media. And now, Ashley and her ex-husband, Bar Smith, are shocked and are expressing their reaction.

Fans were happy that the Teen Mom spinoff The Next Chapter was getting a new season. But that’s not the only thing new for the fans. An Instagram fan account, @TeenMomFanz, announced that MTV plans to bring back Mackenzie McKee for the new season. But the big news is that MTV will bring Mackenzie to replace Ashley Jones.
Like the fans, even Ashley and Bar learned the news from Instagram. Bar had commented how “crazy” it was to learn the news from a fan account other than the show itself. However, Bar did thank the fans for “supporting” him and Ashley. Apparently, the firing happened even before they reached the house the show was filming in. However, at the time, MTV booted Bar and Ashley from the Family Reunion.
When fans saw the Instagram post about the new ‘casting,’ they were angry. They quickly commented on the social media post, saying they did not want to see Mackenzie. Some had requested the network to cancel the show if they were bringing Mackenzie back. The heckling and trolling against Mackenzie had become so much that Ashley and Bar had to take a stand.
Though Mackenzie had replaced Ashley, both she and Bar had taken a stand against Mackenzie’s trollers. Both had asked the fans to take it “easy on” Mackenzie as it wasn’t “her fault.” Apparently, the Teen Mom stars had hated the fans for heckling and lashing Mackenzie for replacing Ashley.

The Instagram fan page news surprised the fans, as the show had not released any official statement. But the surprise increased when they learned that even Bar and Ashley didn’t know it. Apparently, even the pair got the news from Instagram.
MTV had fired Ashley before. But they didn’t tell her anything about it. Instead, they stopped calling her for the shoot scheduling and other such things. So, the star figured it out on her own. It seems like MTV is doing the same thing with Ashley.
A fan noted that the network was ghosting Ashley just like they “ghosted Mackenzie.” Mackenzie had been very open about the network ghosting for years. So, the fans had already known she was going through it. And now, the fans think MTV is repeating the same behavior with Ashley and her ex-husband Bar.
