Cory is back on Teen Mom in its spinoff, The Family Reunion. He is also bringing his current girlfriend and baby mama, Taylor, with him. The first episode of season 3 shows the couple fighting after Cory drank too much.
In the new episode, Cory made a confession. Fans know his and Taylor’s relationship had always been rocky. Now, the former revealed the reason for the instability. He also regretted that it happened while Taylor was still trying to overcome the situation.
Teen Mom: Cory Opens Up About Cheating On Taylor — He “Regrets” It
Fans once asked Taylor when Cory would give her the ring. The former just gave a funny answer. However, Cory’s commitment issues still remained. The fans know he might have cheated on Taylor at one point. In fact, in the previous Teen Mom spinoff, Family Reunion episode, Taylor even talked about infidelity in the relationship. And now, Cory is making a shocking revelation.
In the March 27 episode, the whole cast was in group therapy with Dr. Mike Dow and Michaiah Dominguez. During the session, the doctor asked the couples what was a major block in their relationship progress. Cory gave a shocking reply, saying he “cheated on Taylor five years ago.” He also added that this was the reason for Taylor’s distress, and he “regret(s) it every day.”
The star is aware his previous infidelity is “dragging” the couple down “like an anchor.” So he wants to work on it “the best” he can and “rebuild” Taylor’s trust. On the other hand, Taylor revealed Cory wanted her to “get over” the issue as it happened years ago. But she isn’t “over it yet” and feels they haven’t worked on the problem at all. Taylor knows she is “holding a grudge” and that it is a problem. But Cory broke her trust, and that is not easy to forget.
The Teen Mom star knows his infidelity was a “dumb mistake,” and he is paying for it and working on it. But Cory also believes there’s more to the couple than just that one incident. However, the issue might have had a lasting impact on Taylor. In a private confession, she revealed that she would feel better if Cory proposed. She needs some sort of a tangible reminder of his level of commitment.
Teen Mom: Cory’s Infidelity Has Had Lasting Impacts
Cory had previously discussed his cheating on Taylor in a private therapy session. But in the March 27 episode, he discussed it with the group. Cory’s confession shocked his Teen Mom co-stars, Tyler Baltierra and Catelynn Lowell. They felt they wouldn’t have continued the relationship after that if it were them.
On the other hand, Cory’s ex, Cheyenne, doesn’t feel Cory “has the proper tools to work” through the incident himself. And then there is still poor Taylor, who is holding a grudge. She feels it won’t be easy to trust Cory again, as he already broke it once.
