Taylor Selfridge and Cory Wharton have a long history. Since the start, the Teen Mom stars have been in an on-again, off-again relationship. They also have two daughters, Maya and Mila. Maya was born with a congenital heart condition.
Little Maya’s heart condition required emergency surgery when she was just six days old. She had another surgery a few months after that. And now, the baby girl is gearing up for her third one, which will be the final surgery for her condition.

Cory and Taylor have always had an on-again, off-again relationship. The former’s lack of commitment made the relationship difficult. But then the Teen Mom pair had two daughters, Mila and Maya. And now, they are living a relatively stable life. However, life hasn’t been easy for them. Taylor and Cory’s younger daughter has a congenital heart condition.
Maya was born with tricuspid atresia. It is a condition where the heart’s tricuspid valve fails to develop properly. The failed valve development impedes blood flow to the lungs. Maya had to get an open heart surgery when she was six days old. Her second surgery was at six months old. And now, she is heading for her third one.
In the Family Reunion premiere, the couple revealed they will focus on Maya’s health for now. They are putting their relationship “on the back burner.” Her surgeries have been difficult for her and her parents. Cory even remembers Maya’s 15-day NICU stay at 10 days old as traumatic.
Maya’s third surgery will be her final one. She is not even two years old, and the surgery will be a major milestone for her. Taylor said Maya’s recent doctor’s appointment had a new indication. She said the doctor indicated that Maya might need an earlier surgery because of her height. The Teen Mom couple is optimistic about Maya’s recovery as the baby girl is reaching 35 pounds.

Cory and Taylor have had a tough time with Maya’s health. However, the Teen Mom couple has stayed optimistic, and their daughter is recovering quickly. Maya is not even two years old and has had two open-heart surgeries. But Maya, Cory, and Taylor are resilient.
Maya had to stay in the NICU for 15 days when she was only ten days old. Cory still describes the experience as traumatic. He had even shared on his Instagram how he couldn’t “wait for” the doctors to fix Maya’s heart. And now, he and Taylor are gearing up for Maya’s third open-heart surgery.
The fans are sending blessings and prayers for the little girl. One fan even called Maya a “warrior princess” and sent “prayers for” her. Maya has stayed strong throughout the tough ordeal.
