Cory Wharton was a part of Teen Mom. The MTV star had a daughter with his co-star Cheyenne Floyd. And now, he has two kids from his current marriage with Taylor Selfridge. The couple’s youngest child, Maya, was born in June 2022 and is called Maya. Little Maya had a tough time post-birth. And her father, Cory Wharton, recently shared a big milestone of the little girl related to her after-birth experience.

Everyone is celebrating the New Year. And while some are excited about the new year, some people wish for more positive things to happen in 2024. Cory Wharton is one such person. The Teen Mom star had called 2023 a “dark time” of his life. Cory’s daughter Maya was born in June 2022.
Though it was a happy occasion, it soon turned sad as Cory and his wife Taylor learned their daughter had a congenital heart disease. Maya was born with Tricuspid Atresia and would have to undergo open heart surgery in her first week alive. Maya again had another surgery at seven months old but had to remain in the ICU due to some complications. However, the baby girl is all well now.
The Teen Mom star shared a very heartfelt message on Instagram for his daughter’s milestone. Cory revealed it had been a year since Maya’s open heart surgery. In the post, Maya was lying on top of Cory, wearing a cute red dress. The father hugged his daughter, and both were surrounded by a collage of Maya’s black and white pictures from 2023. In the lengthy caption, Cory called Maya a “FIGHTER.”
Cory wrote a long caption about how watching smiling “kids in a Children’s hospital” changed his perspective. The Teen Mom star also thanked the “CHD community” for their support. He ended the caption by wishing his little angel a “Happy anniversary.”

The Teen Mom star had posted Instagram stories with his daughter Maya’s photos. Baby Maya was smiling in every photo of the story. In the first picture, Maya posed on her hands and knees while smiling. Her orange hair was up and had a star-printed bow, and her onesie revealed a little scar from her open-heart surgery.
Cory captioned the photo, writing that it made him smile. He also talked about life “Come(ing a full circle” and being grateful and “thankful” for everything. The last story was a video of Maya walking happily.
