Leah’s daughter Ali has been fighting a Muscular Dystrophy condition for some time now. She has Tintin Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy, which the doctors diagnosed in 2014. It had been a tough road for her and her parents. But the teen never gave up. She braved it all with a smile and worked hard on herself.
The Teen Mom star has been open about her daughter’s health struggle. She has also shared her daughter’s progress with fans. In a new update, Leah has some good news. Tintin Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy causes muscles to become weak and lose strength. It also affects breathing, bowel movements, the brain, and eye lenses. But there is some good news for Ali.
Leah shared a recent update on Ali’s health. She revealed the teen had a doctor’s appointment on March 17. The doctor told Leah he “sees more of an improvement than he ever has” in Ali’s physical and mental health. Leah took to Instagram to tell her fans that the doctor sees “remarkable” improvement in Ali. She is doing better than the “700+” people with “her type of #MuscularDystrophy.” He also said that Ali’s “love, hard work, and dedication” for horseback riding made it possible.
Ali’s “pulmonary” strength is better. Though her “reflex is still the same,” her strength, growth, and weight chart showed good results. Leah thanked Ohio’s Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s Dr Tsao for his guidance and patience. She also said Ali’s positive fighting spirit was always a boost. One of Leah’s Teen Mom co-stars, Chelsea Houska, also commented on the post, calling Ali’s progress “incredible.”

Leah and Correy were heartbroken when they first learned about Ali’s condition. They discovered Ali had Tintin Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy, which is a rare form of muscular dystrophy. But soon, the parents banded together to help their daughter.
Leah and Correy have since broken up. But they continue to support their daughter. Ali is also trying to be positive and working hard to get better. In one of the Teen Mom star’s recent posts, Ali walked in a wheelchair. The fans were very happy with the teen’s progress.
