The case has been going on since September 2023. Police investigation reports pointed towards David being Jace’s abuser. Fans were diligently following the long-drawn CPS case. And there is some surprising news about the case, and it will leave you in shock.
Teen Mom: Jenelle Announces A Shocking Update About Her CPS Case
Jenelle and her son Jace’s CPS case began in September 2023 when he ran away from home for the third time. The cops found him and found marks on his body indicating abuse. After further investigation, the reports alleged that his mother’s husband, David, was Jace’s abuser. So, they have a case against him.
The Teen Mom star had chosen to support David over Jace. So, Jenelle got a team of three lawyers for their defense. The pair has been fighting in court since then. Jenelle had even taken to social media many times to show her support for David. In an October 15 TikTok video, Jenelle told her fans they accused David of some “horrible s-t.” She also said that her kids love him, and he hadn’t done anything the cops accused him of.
And now, in a shocking turn of events, Jenelle has “some good news.” She made a TikTok video on February 15 announcing that CPS had dropped all allegations against her and David. Jenelle added that she was shaking from “anxiety.” She hadn’t originally planned to make the news public. But she did so now to “control the narrative.”
Jenelle initially planned to keep the news “private” and “vague.” However, she claimed that “somebody was already leaking” the case updates to the media. She also speculated it was either Andrew or Barbara. But the Teen Mom fans can’t get over CPS agreeing to drop the charges. A source also revealed that Jenelle will be getting Jace’s full custody back!
Teen Mom: David’s Abuse Charges Are Now A Felony
What began as a CPS and child abuse case is now a felony case. Initially, Child Protective Services had accused David of abusing his stepson Jace. However, after more investigation, the charges became bigger and more serious.
A court clerk told InTouch there was “enough evidence” against David for the case to go to a higher court. His charges became a felony, namely felony for assault and strangulation. The court also ordered him to have no contact with Jace. All this while, Teen Mom star Jenelle supported her husband, David.
Since the case was so deep, the latest update surprised the fans. They had assumed that the felony charges would mean a big punishment for David. However, the CPS decided to drop the allegations against the former MTV star and David. Jace’s custody remains with the CPS.
