Teen Mom: The Next Chapter Getting Canceled Due To Low Viewvership?

MTV TEEN MOM POSTER

After a long wait, Teen Mom: The Next Chapter has finally been released on the screen. Fans were very excited about the show’s release ever since MTV announced that they had renewed a merge of two of its most selling shows. The latest season featured the OGs, who were away from the screen for the past few years. The most favorite stars were back with more drama. Fans had pretty high expectations from the new outing. However, now, they fear that the series might see its end soon. Is it getting canceled? Keep reading to find out.

Teen Mom: The Next Chapter Is Getting Canceled?

Teen Mom: The Next Chapter started with a bang, and certainly, the first episode was filled with surprises. It revolved around Cheyenne Floyd, who had recently survived a near-death accident. Earlier this year, Floyd was driving home with her boyfriend when suddenly a green life flashed on his head. When the couple followed the light, they were shocked that a guy they knew in real life was pointing a gun at them. However, before they could do anything, he started firing. As the Teen Mom star revealed, he shot 13 bullets into their car. Fortunately, no one was hurt. Besides this, the first episode gives a minor glimpse of the other Teen Moms. Besides this, the episode did not really have an interesting plotline.

Moreover, the premier episode has received very poor ratings from critics. Following the show’s first episode release and ratings, fans fear MTV might cancel the franchise. It was reported that the show failed to land on the top 50 cable telecasts. And also, it only has 203,000 views for the first episode, which is comparatively very low against other seasons of the reality television series. Teen Mom 2 brought double the views that The Next Chapter episode did. As ShowBuzzDaily reported, it was the least-watched episode in the show’s history.

Teen Mom: Fans Want Maci Bookout To Leave The Show

Teen Mom: The Next Chapter Episode 1 struggled to impress fans. The only thing that kept people stuck to the screen was Cheyenne Floyd’s storyline. Aside from that, fans were not satisfied with anything that the episode brought them. They were also unhappy with Maci Bookout’s fake storyline. In the episode, she was seen experimenting on her kids. Maci told them that she was going out for dinner. However, she, along with her husband, Tyler, was watching them from a baby monitor. Her elder son was given the duty of taking care of the kids. However, he failed to do so, which worried her. Fans heard her saying to her husband that nothing was going the way they had planned.

Fans took to Reddit to talk about the episode, and they were highly unimpressed with the build-up. They asked the channel to fire Maci from the show because she didn’t have anything to offer to the audience. Moreover, people believe she is just making her story appear on the screen. The latest contract of the show says that the stars will only be paid for their time on the screen. Unlike previous seasons, they would be paid equally throughout the season.
