Tanner also said in an interview that he felt awful that he had to hide this fact from the fans since the plan was that Finn would return after a while. However, this gives Steffy the chance to reunite with the love of her life finally. Regular viewers know that Steffy has been going through a lot lately. So, he will be at peace once she gets to know that Finn is alive.

This trip might also be useful to hide Wood’s reduced screen time until her maternity leave.
