In the last episode, which is the twenty-third episode of the eighth season, the Lagina brothers got back to work again. The brothers were back in the swamp, and after digging for some time, they found pottery bits and assumed that they were remnants of fire damage. Then the team start poking around the Samuel Ball Foundation and dug out more pottery bits. They even found out a gold button from the English Navy.
Using a metal detector, they uncovered an ox shoe nail and some other material. This also included a ring bolt. After keen examination, the team concluded that this ring bolt was from the 1600s, and was a part of the ship. Viewers also came to know more about all of this from a local treasure hunter.
