The Young And The Restless: Adam And Nick Face Off For The COO Crown!

In the latest episode of The Young and the Restless the Newman Enterprises COO, Nate got the boot. In a shocking twist, the Newman patriarch, Victor kicked Nate out of his family company, Newman Enterprises. Now the COO position is left vacant, and Victor has to decide who will fill it. Will it be his son Adam, who’s had a rocky history but knows business, or Nick, who had troubled past. Let’s dive in and find out!

Who Is The Next Newman Leader?

Suddenly, in the episode of The Young and the Restless that aired on November 7, 2023, Nate was fired from his job. Victor admitted that he had been pretending to have mental issues for weeks and accused Nate of betraying him. According to Victor, Nate was willing to betray Victor and Victoria to seize power. In the November 8 episode, Victor revealed that Nate had secretly contacted doctors at a facility, trying to get Victor into an inpatient treatment program. But Nate’s intention was to help his boss in understanding his medical condition, as Victor was unwell.

The Young And The Restless
Y&R/ Victor fired Nate

Unfortunately for Nate, Victor thought Nate wanted Victor to go to a mental hospital. So, Victoria became the CEO, and Nate helped her run the company. Although Nate said Victoria’s role was temporary, Victor remained unmoved. Victor believed Nate, who used to be a respected doctor and businessman, had let ambition cloud his judgment, betraying Victor. After Nate left Victor’s office in a huff, Adam wondered the future of the family company. Much like Victor, we are left wondering about the fate of NE without a COO.

In the same episode of The Young and the Restless, when Adam tried to figure out the future of NE after Nate’s departure, Victor shifted his attention to Nick. He directly asks his oldest son about his plans. Victor is clear, he really wants Nick to come back to the family business. So, the big question is: Will Victor hire Nick as Newman’s COO again, or will he give the job to Adam instead?

The Young And The Restless: Who Will Victor Choose As COO?

When it comes to Nick, he didn’t immediately refuse Victor’s idea of coming back. Unlike before when Victoria asked him to return, he said no right away. So, Nick’s unsure response to his father now might mean he’s open to the job offer. We also believe it would be fitting for Nick to become the COO again. He was doing really well in that role over the summer before Cameron showed up in Genoa City seeking revenge.

After Cameron’s troublemaking time ended and Sally lost her baby, Victoria asked her brother to leave, bringing in Nate as a replacement. At first, Victor didn’t like this choice, but he later agreed. So, in a sense, Nick should get the chance to have his old job back because it was taken away from him unfairly.

Y&R/ Adam and Nick battle for new COO

We all know that Nick is currently working with Sharon at Kirsten Incorporated, the newly revamped company. Yet, considering how much he’s been talking about returning to Newman, it appears it’s just a matter of time before he makes the move. When it comes to Adam becoming the COO, there’s a valid argument in his favor. Victor pointed out that Adam set aside his selfish ambitions to support Victor. He also agreed to work with his siblings, which is a big change for him. This shows that Adam has changed. Plus, he has experience leading in the family business, so he’s not new to the job.

Sadly, it’s unlikely for Victor to choose Adam as the COO if Nick agrees to the job, unless Victoria decides to leave Newman and her co-CEO role. Victoria is angry with Victor for his lies and isn’t sure she can forgive him. If she quits in frustration, it’s possible that Nick could take her position, and Adam might become the COO. For now, we’ll have to wait and see how Victor’s plan continues to impact his family and business. So stick around to see what’s the future of Newman Enterprises.
