While the rest of the soaps were busy painting the sky pink on Valentine’s Day, The Young and The Restless quietly snuck on us and put a massive pin in our favorite heart-shaped balloon! Yes, instead of bringing us a romantic reunion on the day of love, Y&R bolted in the opposite direction. They so undramatically broke up one of the most iconic super couples of television. Brace yourselves; this will hurt, really really hurt. Nick Newman and Sharon are done for good. They are still thick as friends, but the romance (gulp) is gone.
Nick and Sharon have been star-crossed lovers for decades on The Young and The Restless. Drifting apart only to come closer than ever until they drift apart again. However, the last time Nick and Sharon parted ways and allowed themselves to fall in love with other people, the duration of their break from each other became long. But despite the length of time, Nick-Sharon shippers were patiently waiting for the day they would both look into each other’s eyes and realize this is it! They are meant for each other!
The Nick-Sharon Ship Has Sunk On The Young And The Restless
Alas! February 14, 2023, episode of The Young and The Restless, sunk the ship. Or at least punched a gigantic hole in the base. Nick and Sharon discussed their daughter’s faith and her relationship with her boyfriend, Moses. Right then, Sally walked in on them. However, even before any doubt could creep inside Sally’s mind, Sharon clarified that she sees Nick as just a friend now. Long gone are the days of their romance, and they have effectively moved on from each other.
Sharon insisted it to be especially true for herself on The Young and The Restless. She reflected that everything that she has gone through, including her battle with cancer, has put her on the path of self-discovery. And romance is the last thing on her mind as of now, least of all with Nick. The older Newman brother also appeared comfortable with Sharon’s declarations. So anybody holding their breath for a Nick-Sharon reunion should exhale! It looks like that’s on the table anymore!
But can The Young and The Restless really do that? Take away something so special from Nick and Sharon’s fanbase. We agree that stranger things have happened on the soap before, but we were really not prepared for this twist! That, too, in such an anti-climatic manner! What say you?
