However, a recent rumor that set twitter on frenzy, suggested we might have to live that exact nightmare!
The star of The Young and The Restless, Eric Braeden, saved the day for his fans! As soon as the hue and cry over his alleged exit from the soap reached his ears, he took to Twitter to clear the air. “Please don’t fall for someone’s rumor that I have been written off,” Eric assured. “If that were the case, I’d tell you myself, trust me!” he insisted. And we trust you on that, Eric. He has never been one to take baseless rumors lying down. He has always been very outspoken and forthcoming with his fans. So, yes, we can all rest assured that if the days ever comes, he will be the first to announce it.

Fans were supremely relieved to see the news being debunked by the man himself! “Can’t imagine Young and Restless without you on it ! You are Young and Restless.” A fan echoed our exact sentiment in the comments section. “Well if your off I am out!” declared a fan, not wanting to watch the soap without Victor Newman dominating Geona City.
Eric Braeden, last year had enthused a straight-up “HELL NO” when People magazine had asked him if he would retire from The Young and The Restless. So one would wonder how did the rumors start. Leave it old news stories resurfacing! In 2009 when Eric and the soap were renegotiating his contract, rumors had started doing rounds that he could leave. A Twitter user named @momcapade was tweeting about the same story. However, the date of the original news never made it to the tweet! Hence, breathing new life to the old rumor.
Later, however, the user apologized for the rumor they started unintentionally. Stating they love Victor Newman and that there is no The Young and The Restless without him. Well, we are happy that the baseless news died just as fast as it started. All thanks to Eric shooting it down!
