Life has been really hard for Summer off-late on The Young and The Restless. She has literally been on a roller coaster of emotions when it comes to her mother, Phyllis. Moreover, now that she has opened up to Daniel, it has only added to her misery. Add to that her strained relationship with Kyle, and you have the perfect recipe for disaster! Summer’s Tough Luck In Her Personal Relationships
When Summer and Kyle renewed their vows on The Young and The Restless, it was dream come true for SKYLE fans. The couple literally looked picture perfect together! Moreover, with Harrison in the mix, they made the perfect family together. But our time as soap lovers has taught us that “perfect” is often jinxed and has trouble on speed dial! Thus, the couple started to feel turbulence soon after. Initially, most of the waves came in form of their momzillas battling each other. However, later the issues started to become deeper.
Summer felt like Kyle was keeping secrets from her and going behind her back on The Young and The Restless. This starting to cause more and more friction between them and all they ever did was fight. The troubles in her personal life kept her on edge most of the times, and she lashed out at her mother, Phyllis, for rocking every possible boat. This pushed Phyllis into faking her death (with Jeremy) and framing Diane for it. However, the fake death left Summer in shambles and she felt wrecked with guilt over losing her mom, especially at a time when their relationship was so strained.
Daniel’s Reality Check Pushes Summer Over The Edge On The Young and The Restless
Soon after killing and escaping Jeremy, Phyllis reached out to Summer on The Young and The Restless. Summer was ecstatic and so relieved to see her mom alive. However, she got pulled into Phyllis’ drama when her mother requested her to keep her being alive a secret. Of course, a secret like that can weigh very heavily on anyone. Thus, Summer began to crack under the pressure and confessed the truth to Daniel. In turn, Daniel insisted that this is not a truth that should be kept a secret. Moreover, he told her that the longer she hides it from Kyle the bigger crack it will cause in her marriage.
This realization has hit Summer hard on The Young and The Restless. She understands that exposing Phyllis’ secret will exonerate Diane, and bring so much relief to Jack and Kyle. On the flip side, exposing her mother could once again cost her their relationship. In the recent episode Summer’s guilt
