In a TLC teaser for Welcome To Plathville, Kim unexpectedly mentioned the possibility of having a new child. This happened while the Plath family was sitting together for Thanksgiving dinner. “There’s no telling how many people will be at our Thanksgiving dinner next year.” She said. Further, she asked the couple, “Is it possible there could be a new little person?” The camera captured the siblings’ reactions instantly, and it was clear they were unhappy, as though things had gone too far.

“Yeah, you never know,” Lydia said hesitantly, trying to keep calm. Later in an interview, Lydia and Zac said that they are not hurrying into anything. Lydia said that before making such a big and important move, they still need to work out “a few logistics.” Zac agreed with her, saying that although they would be open to the concept in the future, they want to feel more certain in some areas first.

Back at the dinner table, Zac called Lydia “my darling” and gently told her to be patient. It was a short but crucial moment that showed their efforts to keep their cool under pressure. But in her own confessional, Kim didn’t hold back. She said that Lydia has ‘baby eyes’ and often talks about wanting a kid and even taking prenatal vitamins. However, she said that Zac looks more realistic and would rather wait.
