The OP said they couldn’t be prouder of her for having this attitude and standing up for herself and Zac. She clarified about her wedding after her mom alleged her husband was controlling her choice.

A sassy Lydia denied that, saying she and Zac take every decision as “us.”  In Season 8, she is more assertive, as in her confrontation. She put her family on the spot, demanding an apology for their ruthless behavior towards Zac. While some fans previously viewed her as a fake or overly accommodating for blindly following Kim, that has changed.

Viewers of the show know that Kim mistreated Lydia a lot. She is a narcissistic mom.
