1000 Lb Sisters

Amy and Tammy Slaton were first featured on Youtube, where they showed off their quirky personalities. They also shared about their lives in Kentucky. Their Youtube stint caught TLC’s attention, and soon, they appeared on national television. Season 1 saw them fighting against themselves to lose some weight for bariatric surgery. Initially, Tammy weighed 406 lbs while Amy weighed 605 lbs. However, after the surgery, Amy did lose 124 lbs but soon got pregnant, much against her doctor’s directions.

Amy Slaton Is Pregnant Despite Her Doctor’s Warnings

In the trailer for season 2, we see Amy Slaton revealing that she’s pregnant four months. Her doctor asked her to wait for at least two years after her surgery before conceiving a baby. In the video clip, she reveals that she’s anxious. She also adds that she always wanted to be a mother and that this baby means the world to her. Not to mention, Amy’s high-risk pregnancy might pan out in something unexpected.

Amy Doesn’t Trust Her Sister’s Boyfriend

Season 2 trailer also saw Tammy Slaton meeting her alleged boyfriend, Sykes. When asked if he wants Tammy to get the weight loss surgery, he promptly says yes. However, Amy doesn’t believe him. According to her, Sykes mentioned that he likes big girls. Having said that, he might not push Tammy to go ahead and work hard on losing weight. Amy feels that her sister needs someone who motivates her and not ‘just want her to stay the way she is.’

Apart from this, Tammy is still struggling to lose weight for bariatric surgery. She says that she reached Dr. Procter’s goal for surgery. However, she gained back all the lost weight. That said, she’d have to work harder to get back in shape. Her doctor says that her chances of dying in the next five years are 80%. This makes it clear that Tammy would have to be firm on her goal to live healthily.
