Earlier, we saw Sumit heading to court with his friend. He was extremely scared and was anxious to anticipate what was going to happen. His estranged wife accused him of mistreating her. Even though he claimed that he never mistreated his wife, it looked like they were trying to get Sumit in trouble.
The Court Notice Almost Jeopardized Sumit And Jenny’s Relationship
Sumit informed Jenny that he got a notice from the court which said that his estranged wife accused him of mistreating her. Jenny revealed that Sumit had to pay her $20,000 in the hopes of her dropping the charges. The charges were of physical and mental torture. Moreover, she also demanded $500 each month in the form of spousal support.
Jenny also made it clear that the expenses of hiring a lawyer and the $500 spousal support were way beyond their means. When the court date arrived, Sumit was extremely nervous despite all his efforts to remain calm. But in the end, he was surprised that his wife and her family had withdrawn all their accusations. Consequently, the judge dropped all the charges.
90 Day Fiance: The Other Way, Jenny Gives Sumit a Reality Check
When Sumit exited the court he stated that he could finally sleep in peace once again. A huge burden was lifted off his chest. Once he reunited with Jenny, Sumit told her that he wouldn’t have to pay his estranged wife any kind of spousal support. He also let her know that the case was finally over and they could put it all behind them.
It looks like the couple was headed in a positive direction. Of course, they were! But the problem was that they could still not get married unless Sumit’s divorce was confirmed. Jenny seemed worried while pointing that out to Sumit. After all, she is in India for a limited time! If the couple can’t get married soon, she might even have to go back to America.

Considering that Sumit’s mom stated before that she will never accept Jenny, it seems unlikely that the couple will have his parent’s support. His father thinks that their relationship is downright odd. A while back, Sumit had an explosive altercation with his parents over this issue. He was trying to convince them to accept Jenny.
But they accused him of thinking only about his own happiness and not his parents. To that, Sumit made it clear that he married the women of their choice just to make them happy. He then pointed out what a disaster his marriage was! Even though they agreed that it was a bad marriage, they still weren’t acceptant of Jenny.
