Golden Bachelor season 2 host Jesse Palmer has playfully roasted lead Mel Owens. While joking about his orthopedic sneakers, he said, “Those black shoes don’t help him move any better either- he moved around like a fax machine trying to load in 1979.” In the recent episode, Owens invited most of the ladies on a group date, with comedian and unexpected Bachelor superfan Jared Freid moderating the event.

Later, the ladies were ordered to write and perform their joke on Mel. Well, Nicola Kate’s roast was the one that caught Owens’ attention, and she won a one-on-one date with Mel. But it was Amy Kaplan’s roast that Jesse really enjoyed. While talking about it, Jesse told EW that her monologue was hilarious and entertaining. He further added that it was also confusing, and there were moments when she was only wearing one shoe.

Palmer also said, “I don’t think there was one actual joke aimed at Mel or any of the other women.
