The court documents stated that the company failed to acquire a psychological evaluation of Gine before they placed her on an extreme diet for weight loss. The company also failed to provide her with mental health care when the filming was going on and when she was on such an extreme diet.
Despite the company knowing that Gine was in distress, they kept on causing her stress just to spike the ratings. She also revealed that the company made her seem like someone who couldn’t stick to Dr. Nowzaradan’s diet. In fact, they asked her to eat lots of stuff just for the purpose of filming and adding some drama. This is because they wanted Dr. Now to express his disappointment in her for not following the diet.

Megalomedia has not responded to any of the lawsuits except for the one Bonner’s family filed. They responded by saying that the claims of the Bonner family are without merits.
