My 600 Lb Life: Dottie is the sixth cast member to file a lawsuit against Megalomedia. The production company of the show has been caught in a legal mess since the deceased My 600 Lb Life star Bonner’s family sued them. But the recent lawsuit is way more shocking than all 5 combined. Let’s take a look at Dottie’s lawsuit in detail.

My 600 Lb Life: Dottie’s Lawsuit Different From The Others

All the other lawsuit against Megalomedia state something or the other about the fakery of the show. However, Dottie states it outright that the show lied about her progress. They made it look like she was putting on weight. Whereas in reality, Dottie was losing weight. Now, for the similarity her case holds with other cast members, she stated that the company lied about covering her medical expenses.

The producers of the show have been surrounded by various legal issues from former as well as current cast members. The series of legal issues is growing for the company. At the end of January, the news of LB Bonner’s family suing the company came into the limelight. According to them, the gross negligence from the company’s end leads to Bonner’s suicide.

David Bolten, LB Bonner’s castmate, and Maja Radanovic also followed Bonner’s family in filing lawsuits against Megalomedia. Gine Krasely and Jeanne Covey also opted for the legal path to fight their battle against Megalomedia.

Almost all the cast members who have filed lawsuits accuse Megalomedia of promising to pay the bills and then refusing later. In fact, Jeanne revealed that she and her mom were in $70,000 of medical debt.

The cast members also accuse Megalomedia of creating fights with family members just for the purpose of drama. They say that the producers mislead them, and there were severe emotional consequences of filming under false pretense.

Dottie Perkins Lawsuit Adding a Brand New Allegation

According to Dottie, the producers not only created fake storylines for more drama, in her case, but they also fabricated the entire storyline. She first appeared in the fourth season of My 600 Lb Life and has dropped from 641 pounds to 295 pounds, which is her current weight. This is a pretty impressive accomplishment.

Her debut episode featured a long conversation with Dr. Now. He suggested Dottie being hospitalized so that the doctors can monitor her diet. But later, they portrayed that she has put on more weight, but really, she lost a lot of weight. She also stated that they made her eat so much that Dr. Now ordered her to be hospitalized. Dottie describes the hospitalization as a major setback for her. After all, it kept her from getting weight loss surgery until another year till the follow-up episode.
