The current season of My 600 Lb Life has shown us a lot of ups and downs with patients starring on it. There are some who have passed the test of their patience when it comes to weight loss with flying colors. However, there are some who are unable to achieve their goals easily. Joyce Del Viscov is one such patient of Dr. Nowzaradan who has been struggling to control her urges for food. Let’s take a detailed look at her.
My 600 Lb Life: Joyce Hits Rock Bottom With Her Progress
When Dr. Nowzaradan first saw what he was up against, he arranged for a disability vehicle and got Joyce transferred to Houston from Kansas. It was definitely a one-way ticket since she was way beyond being morbidly obese. The ride was of course, and uncomfortable and an unpleasant one.
They hospitalized her in Houston immediately, and the healthcare professionals put her on an extremely controlled diet. She was used to calorific meals, and when she followed Dr. Now’s diet, Joyce began to drop pounds like crazy!
But the calorie restrictions she faced in the hospital were responsible for losing all the extra weight. When Dr. Now sent her back home, Joyce caved into her cravings. Unable to stick to the strict diet on her own, Joyce gained back 60 pounds.
My 600 Lb Life: Dr. Now Has No Patience For Joyce’s Excuses
Dr. Now has handled many patients suffering from extreme weight for the past many years. The celebrity doctor knows how this works and requires a lot of will power. After all, without a passion for being fit from within, it is impossible for patients to make any progress. But we have seen plenty of examples on the show who prove that one can achieve their goal no matter how hard with some determination and discipline.
However, in the case of Joyce, we know that she has been making excuses. But Dr. Now has no patience for this. He loses it with Joyce and is really disappointed in her.
My 600 Lb Life: Joyce Blaming Others For Her Condition, What’s Her Life Like Now?
Joyce currently lives in a small apartment and has a lonely and claustrophobic life. She has a full-time assistant catering to all her needs. The tragic thing is that due to her weight, she had to stop running the daycare center she loved. This has pushed her to a situation where she is seeking the comfort of food to get through tough times.
The only thing that gives her a change from her life is her mom visiting her. She says that she knows that her mother judges her for eating too much. But at this point, there is a part of her that has stopped caring. Joyce knows that her family is worried about her, and they know that she might not make it long. Even though it bothers her, she wants people to leave if they don’t like her.
