The Sister Wives family has been struggling deeply since the death of Garrison Brown’s death. At just 25 years old, Garrison died by apparent suicide in May 2024, shocking fans and leaving a profound wound in the Brown family. Contrary to Kody’s portrayal of a united family, the Browns scattered following Garrison’s death. Christine, Janelle and Meri divorced Kody’s spiritual marriage and distanced themselves from the toxic environment. Now, while Kody’s actions pushed the family apart, Garrison’s death brought them back together. Recently, the TLC stars had a mini-reunion to pay tribute to their late family member.
Sister Wives: Brown Family Celebrates A Mini-Reunion In Wyoming!
Things have never been perfect in the Sister Wives family. Given Kody’s reputation as an insensitive father and an uncaring husband, the Brown family’s downfall seemed inevitable. Kody has long been criticized for his actions. So, it was no surprise when the Sister Wives and their children eventually distanced themselves from him. Despite the toxic household and its memories, the Brown family continues to carry on.
Ditching Kody from a mini-reunion, Christine and Janelle organized a trip to Wyoming with all the OG Brown kids. The trip included Savanah Brown, Aspyn Brown Thompson, Gwendyln Brown, Truely Brown, Ysabel Brown, Maddie Brush, and, surprisingly, Leon Brown. While Meri’s absence from the trip was notable, Leon’s presence came as a relief.
In 2022, Leon came out as transgender and introduced their girlfriend Audrey on Instagram. Unsurprisingly, Kody and some other family members were not accepting of her identity. Leon later distanced themselves from the Sister Wives family to find a safer environment. However, Leon recently joined her family for a mini-reunion, much to fans’ delight. They shared a carousel of images from the holiday, captioning it, “Back to my roots.” It’s heartening to see Leon spending time with her cousins and siblings. It seems Garrison’s death brought the family closer again.
Sister Wives: Leon Brown Pens An Emotional Message!
Kody’s disapproval of most of his kids is quite apparent to Sister Wives fans. He also reportedly rejected Leon during their transition process. Leon, who had been carrying a lot of weight since childhood, penned an emotional message in September 2023. Sharing their memories from a fun-filled weekend at a concert, Leon shared multiple pictures with their partner, Audrey, on Instagram.
They expressed their excitement about seeing Joy Oladokun for the second and third time and watching Brandi Carlile for the first time. “Joy’s music has gotten me through some of my darkest days. I sobbed watching them play ‘somehow’ at red rocks,” she captioned the post.
