Jenelle Evans is one of the most controversial castmates of the Teen Mom franchise. Irrespective of what life throws at her, she always manages to bring drama to the table. It is common knowledge that her mom, Barbara has helped her raise her eldest kid, Jace, from infancy to teenager. But the former has not been finding common ground with her mom. Recently, Jenelle filed a restraining order against her mom, who earlier had custody of her son. She accused Barbara of causing’ emotional distress’ to her as well as her kids, including her stepdaughter, “in danger.” Here is more about it!
Teen Mom: Why Did Jenelle File A Protective Order Against Barbara?
Jenelle Evans’ relationship with her mother, Barbara Evans, has taken a flip for worse. She filed a domestic violence protective order against her 70-year-old mom on Sept 1. But a judge denied her request, for she was unable to prove that she and her kids were in immediate danger and needed quick relief. The former Teen Mom star then filed for a Civil restraining order against her mother. Jenelle has reportedly accused her of causing ‘emotional distress’ to her as well as her children. She has also requested the court to prohibit her mother from coming around her residence, kid’s school.
Surprisingly, Barbara can’t come to her place of employment, that never been talked about. Jenelle provided the reasons why she found the need for filing the protective orders against Barbara. And she took them one-after-the-other. Evans explained that Bar’s talking to TMZ was disturbing both for her as well as Jace, for she gave a statement to them when he was missing. Jenelle added that she is working to keep his life private. The Teen Mom star also shared that her mom’s habit of “name-calling” during their conversation is also emotionally distressing.
Jenelle even mentioned that her mother contacted Teen Mom 2 producers to talk about her son twice the previous month is also distressing. She then concluded, stating that she had been requesting the order for all these reasons. She even casually asked the court to prohibit her mother from buying or having ‘firearms.’ The former MTV celeb and Barbara are due in court on September 14, where the judge will announce if Jenelle’s request has been granted.

After years of growling battle between Jenelle and Barbara over Jace’s custody, the latter decided to gift the custody to her daughter.
