When the contest went on a one on one date with Colton in San Diago’s amusement park, she revealed the tragic incident of her life that revolved around her sister passing away. Seeing the duo spend quality time with each other as well as with children from the Seany Foundation and Friends of Scott was heartwarming.
During their dinner date, Elyse made a shocking personal revelation. Her sister Sarah, who was diagnosed with a rare neuroendocrine tumor is no more. The worst part about the tragedy is that she was pregnant when the doctors diagnosed the ailment. As Sarah made her baby’s health the top priority, she was unable to receive the treatment properly. This resulted in the ultimate heartbreak for their family when she passed away.

Sarah’s Closet was an organization started in honor of her sister. She brought it up while having a conversation with Colton during their date. However, since then, there has been a lot of vagueness surrounding the entire concept of Sarah’s Closet. During a live Instagram session, she explained to the viewers in detail about the organization. She wanted to clear all the confusion and spread awareness about the facts of the organization and the original concept behind it.
Sarah was a nurse at the Central Peninsula Hospital, Soldotna, Alaska. She was a kind hearted and a helpful woman. When she came across poverty-stricken families struggling to make ends meet, she donated used clothes to newborns whose families couldn’t afford the necessary means. After her death, her coworkers, friends, and loved ones put together the organization named Sarah’s Closet and it is still running smoothly.

Elyse wanted to make sure that her fans know the exact truth of the organization. Along with the Sarah Slegers Nursing Scholarship Fund, Sarah’s closet was a collaborative effort in honor of her sister. It originated out of kindness and love and is thriving.
