Before this, she couldn’t figure out why sudden script changes and surprise plot twists were so hard for her. However, now, she finally understands herself better.

The actress shared that she could suddenly be performing their scenes if someone falls ill. Reflecting on her first day on Corrie ten years ago, she revealed that she hadn’t met any of the Coronation Street cast before, except for knowing Jimi Mistry socially. She expressed, “I found that very difficult.”
Autism Plot For Yasmeen?
The star also discussed how she discovered her autism. She shared that her partner, Trilby James, encouraged her to talk to a doctor. After a long phone call discussing her challenges, she got a referral for a test. However, because the NHS prioritised COVID-19, it took years to get the answers.
Later, when asked if her Coronation Street character might get an autism diagnosis in the future, Shelley said she was open to the idea. But she thinks there are specific criteria they’d need to meet. Shelley exclaimed that the condition needs to be explored over time.
She suggested that it would require a significant effort if they were to delve into it.
