A few months back, when Roger Howarth’s character Franco Baldwin departed from General Hospital, most fans were pretty shocked. In his departing stint, Peter August shot Franco and killed him in his art studio. However, then all fans rejoiced when the news about Roger Howarth coming back to Port Charles surfaced.
It’s already second half of May, and Roger’s return is scheduled for May 2021. However, fans don’t know yet what character the actor would play upon his comeback. The ABC soap opera has been pretty tight-lipped about that too. However, now TV Season & Spoilers have some hints on what character Howarth would play when he comes back. Here is what you need to know about it-
What Character Will Howarth Play?
Ever since viewers came to know that Roger Howarth is coming back, many fans have been speculating what character he would play. Many fans speculated that Howarth might come back to play his popular One Life to Live character- Todd Manning. However, later on, it was confirmed that he wouldn’t play that character. The latest General Hospital spoilers do shed some light on what character he might play now. It is also possible that Roger Howarth might play the character of Franco’s lost twin brother.
Of course, it wouldn’t be the first time General Hospital would be doing so. A few years ago, viewers would remember that Diego Alcazar killed Emily (Natalia Livingston) during the Black and White Ball. However, later on, Livingston returned to Port Charles as Rebecca Shaw, who was later on revealed to be Emily’s twin sister. A similar storyline was taken into account for Jason Morgan, who also had a twin brother-Drew Cain. Everyone originally believed that he was Jason for three years before the truth about him being a separate character was revealed.
So, it is possible that a similar storyline could be used for Franco. Writers might build a story where they show Franco getting kidnapped. Later he is brainwashed to believe that he was someone else before it gets revealed that Heather Webber had secretly given birth to identical twin boys. This would also give Scott Baldwin and Elizabeth Webber to continue sharing scenes with Howarth.
General Hospital: What Could Be Franco’s Storyline?
At the moment, we do not have much information yet on what Howarth’s storyline would be when he comes back. However, it is possible that his storyline might get connected to Jason’s storyline. He might help Jason, who is currently on the run, to clear his name and reveal the real killer. Jason might find someone who looks like Franco and bring him to Port Charles as Franco. He might use this to have himself exonerated from the murder charges. This will give him time and opportunity to catch the real killer- Peter.
Then it is also possible that General Hospital could take a very different route. Howarth could play a character that might be entirely different from Franco. It is possible that General Hospital might be repeating what happened with Michael Easton. He played the character of Dr. Silas Clay in the soap opera. However, later on, Dr. Silas Clay was killed off. So, Michael Easton returned to General Hospital six months later as a new character Hamilton Finn who looked like Clay but is nothing like him. So, that might be happening with Roger Howarth too.
