On May 5, 2022, TV Seasons and Spoilers reported the public announcement General Hospital star Steve Burton made. The actor took to his Instagram account to post a written story announcing his separation from wife, Sheree Burton. “I wanted to clear something up, Sheree and I are separated.” he announced. Furthermore, Steve clarified, “She recently announced that she’s expecting her 4th child. The child is not mine.” However, he stated that “We are still co-parenting our three beautiful kids. We would appreciate privacy at this time. Much luv, Steve.”
The latest news, doing rounds, is that The General Hospital star has officially filed for divorce. According to documents obtained by TMZ, who initially reported the news, Steve listed March 1, 2022, as the official date of separation. Citing, “irreconcilable differences” as the reason behind the divorce. Apparently, this filing has come two months after the star first made the announcement that he is no longer together with his wife and the child she is pregnant with is not his.
The couple had first met on the sets of the popular ABC daily soap General Hospital. Steve and Shenee then went on to tie the knot in 1999. The couple is parents to two lovely daughters, Makena and Brooklyn, and a son, Jack. However, the parents are still co-parenting their children.
In a further development, Page Six has reported that the couple’s divorce documents state that they never signed a prenup. Furthermore, even after marriage, The General star and his wife did not sign any post-nuptial agreement. The documents, filed in Orange County Superior Court, state that “Steve and Sheree, who is pregnant with another man’s baby, will consider all property acquired by Steve Burton prior to the marriage and after the date of separation, which was March 1, to be his.
Reports also state that Steve is seeking joint legal and physical custody of their two minor children: 16-year-old Jack and 8-year-old Brooklyn. The couple also shares an adult 18-year-old daughter, Makena. We hope that the General Hospital alum, Steve Burton and his wife, Sheree, are able to get through this without much ugliness and heartache.
