According to rumors, Mal Young, the executive producer and head writer of the show are the reason behind Eileen’s departure. Recently, Davidson took to the media to reveal the details of why she left. According to her statement, she decided that she was about to leave at least a year in advance. It had nothing to do with Mal. Technically, he wasn’t even the head during that time! According to the actress, the filming of daily soaps require long hours and she wished to devote that time to her family.

Despite being entirely consumed with cramming up lines for her scenes, Davidson was pretty occupied during the Weekends too. Young was devastated and saddened at the thought of the actress leaving. He loved to write for her and she was one of his favorite actors on the show.

In order to put an end to put an end to rumors, Eileen Davidson stated that fans should know, no one pushed her out. It was her own decision to leave the show. The rumors and accusations are unfair according to the daily soap star.
Most of the fans didn’t like the way she departed. The storyline was somewhat controversial. But Ashley had a totally different story to tell. She said that she thought the story of her exit was unique. In fact, the actress seemed quite fascinated by how the writers portrayed her departure.

When asked about whether her recasting was in the pages, she gave an answer that wasn’t so promising. Even though it didn’t indicate a bright future for her on the show, it did give a tiny ray of hope to the fans that she might come back. Davidson stated that there might be some scope for her to return back to the show in future.
