The Young and the Restless star Eric Braeden who plays the character of Victor Newman on the soap opera recently spoke to People where he spoke about how the role changed his life and what he plans next. The actor says that he feels very loyal to the soap and beholden to Victor and the audience that has supported him for all these years. Braeden first joined the show in 1980 as Victor Newman and has been playing the role ever since. Is he leaving the show now? Keep reading to find out-

The Young and the Restless: Is Victor Newman Leaving The Soap Opera? 

The actor says that through the four decades he has been on the show, he has obviously grown fond of some people that he has worked with for so long. Speaking more of it, Braeden says that he has learned to appreciate the people who have been essential to the show. He notes that Melody Thomas Scott, who plays the character of Nikki, has been that someone, and he loves and adores her. She had put up with him at times when he wasn’t very easy to put up with. 

Now that he is turning 80, while also celebrating 40 years on The Young and the Restless, he reveals that he is proud to be turning 80. Speaking of what is next, Braden says that he had learned early on that what one does in the last time is what defines them. So, he got to keep plugging and keep on fighting and working and never giving up. The actor says that he would continue to be on the show as long as he can.
