The Young And The Restless spoilers reveal that Richard Burgi has announced his exit from the soap on his Instagram story. From the beginning itself, Ashland was planned to be a short-term character on the show. However, in a short time frame, he has made his place in the hearts of many. But now, it is time that he bids bye.
Burgi posted a video with a small dog on his lap on his Instagram story. The actor then confirmed that he is exiting from the show. Although he enjoyed playing Ashland and working with the cast, it is time for a new chapter. Burgi joined the cast in March of last year to great fanfare, long before his alter ego arrived in Genoa City.
His Instagram story said, “I want to say thank you to all of you wonderful folks who have been so kind and generous and supportive with your words. I have such gratitude for the support. I’m moving on from the show. I have had a great year on Y&R. Just thoroughly enjoyed the great cast and crew. Such wonderful people. And, I wish you all a good start to 2022. Luck, health, love, joy. God bless!”
Right now, as the speculations have it, Ashland is faking his illness and that truth will surface sooner than later. So, fans can expect the truth about Ashland by the end of January. This could also build up Ashland’s exit storyline. We will have to wait and watch for what is in store.
