Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk finally return with American Horror Story Season 9 (1984). To be set in 1984, the new season will feature another paranormal story starring Emma Roberts. The actress has previously been in three of the AHS installments. Moreover, being an anthology series, the franchise tells a different tale every season. Showrunners are taking us back in time, but where are we traveling to? Well, we hope it’s someplace scary.
American Horror Story premiered years ago back in 2011. The series built itself an immensely loyal audience that waits for it to return every year. It all began with a haunted house called ‘Murder House’ in the first season. We later visited a hotel, asylum, covens, and cults full of paranormal creatures. The ratings for the show have varied with every installment. Although it manages to mark its territory every single time it returns on our screens.
Showrunners couldn’t wait to renew the series of more seasons beforehand. In January 2017, FX renewed the show for the eighth and ninth installments, months before Season 7 hit the screens.
American Horror Story Season 9 (1984): Cast Updates
The series is set to bring back the fan-favorite, Emma Roberts as a new character again. She received tones of loves with her appearances in three of the episodes namely ‘Coven,’ ‘Freak Show,’ and the latest, ‘Apocalypse.’ Alongside the actress, we will see Olympian Gus Kenworthy in one of the lead roles. Although, the new installment will miss out a few of the primary cast members this time.
The brand-new installment of American Horror Story will not include Evan Peters. Peters has previously been in all of the eight seasons of the series. On the other hand, Billy Eichner, who has been on the show for two consecutive seasons will not pick up a role in American Horror Story Season 9. The actor announced the news with a tweet. Like all the other AHS seasons until today, the ninth chapter will also cast several new faces as well.
What Will Happen In The New Season?
Several of the previous AHS seasons have had a bunch of paranormal creatures altogether. For example, Season 4 called Coven had a group of witches, while Season 2 & 5 were an Asylum and Hotel full of spirits. Although this time, American Horror Story Season 9 (1984) may have a single supernatural being or maybe a killer. The official teaser features a woman running from a masked murderer carrying a knife. Hence, the new installment is likely to focus on the horrors of this man (or the ghost of the man).
Is It The Last Season Of AHS?
American Horror Story has been running for eight years now, and fans want to know if there will be more of the classic horror show. The series was renewed up to its ninth season in January 2017. However, later in August 2018, the series was greenlit for a tenth season as well. Hence, luckily, viewers will get to watch another installment full of creepy ghosts and cults. Season 10 is likely to premiere in 2020.
American Horror Story Season 9 (1984): Premiere Date
FX network’s iconic horror show follows a strict pattern of release. The first five installments aired in October of the consecutive year. On the other hand, the previous three seasons secured a September telecast each year. The new season will also follow the pattern and premiere on September 18, 2019, at 10/9c.
Ryan Murphy is responsible for gifting his fans with well-sculpted series like Glee, Pose and of course American Horror Story. He currently has several exciting shows in his pocket, and the audiences are truly proud of him. Also, the creator now has an experience of eight long seasons of the popular anthology, and fans do not doubt his ability anymore. Hopefully, American Horror Story Season 9 (1984) will be as impressive as all the previous installments.
