Season 20 of the popular documentary series premiered with only six episodes this time. Unsatisfied with the number of episodes, fans are now eagerly waiting for Intervention Season 21. A&E’s successful show is almost fifteen years old now. Moreover, it probably plans to exist for a lot more years in the future. As of now, here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming installment.
Intervention debuted back in 2005 and ended up becoming an inspirational show for thousands of viewers. The television series follows one or two participants in each episode that are either dependent on or addicted to substance or behavior. Hoping for intervention, their family members, friends, and/or therapists agree to get them documented on the show. It has been running for twenty seasons now, and fans are still hoping for more.
Intervention Season 21: Renewed Or Canceled?
In May 2013, A&E announced the cancellation of the popular documentary series. However, they eventually regretted the decision, and Intervention was resurrected a year later. Since then, the show has been running strong and stands as one of the most successful shows on the network. Moreover, after the same, A&E never takes long to renew it for future seasons.
Season 19 of the show released back in June 2018 and concluded in May 2019. Soon after the finale, A&E announced the renewal of Season 20 which aired on August 6, 2019. The installment is currently running, with the last episode set to telecast on September 10, 2019. The network is yet to renew Intervention Season 21. However, chances suggest that the showrunners will soon make an announcement.
Cast Details
Being a docuseries that focuses on addicts, Intervention does not have a specific set of cast members. Each episode features a new participant (or two) and their journey towards intervention. Hence, it’s hard to predict any of the Season 21 participants right now.
However, the show has had several interventionists that assist the addicts every season. The documentary debuted with three specialists back in 2005, Ken Seeley, Jeff VanVonderen and Candy Finnigan. Over the years, the list kept on changing and other veterans kept on joining the series. This includes John Southworth, Donna Chavous, Seth Jaffe, John Southworth, and Sylvia Parsons. Chances suggest that the current set of interventionists may be back in Intervention Season 21 as well.
When Will ‘Intervention Season 21’ Return To A&E?
Intervention is currently one of the most important shows running on A&E. It has gradually become more and more popular over the years. Hence, the network doesn’t keep the series off the screens for more than four to five months. Thus, as per the release pattern, Intervention Season 21 may return by December 2019 or January 2020.

Season 20 of the show focuses on Heroin addicts yet again. The installment takes us to Kensington County in Philadelphia and tackles the overwhelmed opioid addiction there. Intervention Season 21 may also target Heroin addiction. However, we hope that it has more than six episodes this time.
