The second season of Amazon Prime’s popular show debuted much later than we expected. Well, it looks like ‘Jack Ryan Season 3’ will follow the paths of its predecessor. Lead actor and executive producer John Krasinski is struggling to find showrunners for the new season. Here’s everything to know.
Back in August 2018, Tom Clancy’s characters were adapted for an Amazon Prime series. Jack Ryan turned out to be an instant hit with viewership in millions and high ratings. Hence, the streaming giant ended up renewing a second outing. Well, Season 2 performed equally well, and a green flag for Jack Ryan Season 3 came much earlier than we all expected.
Amazon Prime Video has put much confidence in the production of the series, which justifies the early renewal. However, when showrunner Paul Scheuring left, John Krasinski began to face difficulties in finding a new one. Jack Ryan Season 3 went on a short hiatus with almost no progress since Season 2’s October 2019 premiere. In fact, the lead actor picked up a new responsibility to write the script for the latest installment.
As per current details, Krasinski has finally found a new showrunner for Season 3. “Star Trek: Discovery” executive producer Vaun Wilmott is stepping in for S3 production. In fact, Krasinski and Vaun are working together to write the scripts of Jack’s next mission. As soon as the script is complete, the Jack Ryan team will be ready to begin productions.
The delay in beginning productions for the third season may push back its release as well. The second installment took around 15 months to return. Well, as per the current schedule, Jack Ryan Season 3 may even take longer than that. As of now, the upcoming season may premiere around early to mid-2021.
