All the drug kingpin drama will be home soon with Narcos Mexico Season 2. The show has become a star of everyone’s eye since the first season. Though it was actually the fourth run of overall series, as the show is a part of Narcos Franchise.
Narcos Mexico deals with the modern Mexican drugs trade, and concentrate on real-life narco Felix Gallardo; a former Sinaloan police officer turned drug lord. Kiki Camarena, a Mexican-American Drug Enforcement Administration agent, gets tasked to take Felix down.
Narcos Mexico is set in the 1980s in Mexico and is a part of the Narcos franchise. Although Narcos focused on Pablo Escobar (Wagner Moura) and Cali Cartel and Narcos Mexico on Guadalajara drug rise in Mexico. Narcos-Mexico was previously set to be the fourth installment of the parent franchise. However, it turned out to be a companion series.
Cast Returning For Narcos Mexico Season 2
The main cast from the debut season of Narcos Mexico is set to return for the next run of the series. However, as Michael Pena will not return for Season 2, as the end of the first season brutally killed him. Except for him, all the stars will return for Narcos Mexico Season 2. That includes Diego Luna as Felix Gallardo. Tenoch Huerta as Rafael Cara Quintero. New addition Teresa Ruiz as Felix’s girlfriend Isabella Bautista, and Alejandro Edda as Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman. Also, the narrator of the show, Scoot McNairy, will come to life as DEA Agent Walt Breslin. He will lead a task force for Operation Leyenda.
Narcos Mexico Season 2: Plot Details
The first season started in the 1980s focusing on the rise of the Guadalajara drug. To pursue that, the operations established with Gallardo (Diego Luna) as being the head. In the entire first season, Gallardo expanded his drug business with different drug lords and the territories, known as Plazas.
Season 2 will pick up the loose ends of the first season. The show will continue after the death of the agent Kiki Camarena (Michael Pena). He was abducted and tortured and finally got murdered. However, Camarena’s death will serve as a catalyst for the drug war in the second season. Also, the new incoming agent, Breslin, will lead Operation Leyenda to find justice for Kiki Camarena’s death.
Narcos Mexico Season 2: Release Date
The first season of Narcos Mexico debuted in December 2018. However, this year’s December is also here, and we still don’t have any news regarding the release of the second season. As per the reports, the filming work for the second season has also wrapped. However, José Maria Yazpik, who has been playing the role of Amado Carillo Fuentes, mentioned in one of his Instagram posts that the second season will premiere in February 2020 on Netflix.
