Initially, the Netflix series Narcos adapted to be a four-season run. But later, the series got its companion one in the name of Narcos: Mexico. The show is set in the 1980s in Mexico and is quite a part of the Narcos franchise. However, both of them are self-contained stories, as Narcos focuses on Pablo Escobar, (Wagner Moura) and Cali Cartel. Narcos Mexico previously set to be the fourth installment of the parent franchise, but later on, it turned out to be a companion series.
