Season Five of Peaky Blinders is still in the crazy run. The show and Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) are delivering enormous drama to their fans. However, these avid fans are desperate to know the fate of Tommy and the entire Shelby family. Will they return for another season? Will BBC renew the series for Peaky Blinders Season 6. Let’s find out.
Peaky Blinders Season 6: Renewal Status
Officially, the show has not been ordered for its sixth run. However, it looks like Season 6 is already commenced. Lately, creator Steven Knight has stated that he has started working on next two installments, season six and seven of the series. However, when Deadline asked this to the authorities from BBC, they declined to comment about the future seasons of the series.
In an interview with BBC News last year, Knight stated that they are definitely doing season six and will probably do season seven too. That is because, after season four, the series went mad. Therefore, Peaky Blinders have more to give Tommy Shelby and his shenanigans.
Knight also discussed that there were plans to wrap the series after Season 6. As he stated, “We were originally going to end it with this series, but I just thought that there are so many people who are just getting into it now, it’d be such a shame to stop.” But as it seems like, there are definitely next two runs of Peaky Blinders to come.
Peaky Blinders Season 6: Production in 2020
In an interview with GQ, season five director Anthony Byrne revealed that the proper preparations for the next season would begin in early November. And shooting will kick off in early 2020. Also, he will be the first director of the series to return for another season. Byrne also stated that Steve and Cillian both had become all thrilled by seeing the success of the fifth season. And also, they are ready to continue the journey for more seasons.
What will happen in Peaky Blinders Season 6?
Knight has also confirmed that season six will go West but in a different way. Also, he cleared that it will not involve American gangster Al Capone. Moreover, Knight made one more revelation for the future of the show. According to him, he wants to turn Tommy into a good man by the end of the show.
Sixth Season of Peaky Blinders is not even officially announced yet. Also, the final episode of the fifth season is due to air. Therefore, there is not anything sure to say about the next installment of Peaky Blinders Season 6. When asked about the cast, Knight also confirmed that the rest of the principal cast is already ready to return for the next installment.
Peaky Blinders Season 6: Release Date
The fifth season is still in the run. Therefore, it seems that the audience needs to wait for quite some time for Season 6. Also, Season 5 took almost two years to return to the fans. So there is no actual date to presume for Peaky Blinders Season 6. However, the show might return Shelby to the screens around 2021.
