The ghost face will finally haunt the fans in their dreams. There had been a lot of speculations about the premiere of Scream Season 3, but it is surely happening. MTV had renewed the series for a third season way back in 2016, and since then, fans are waiting to witness it.
The reason for the delay was the rebooting of the series through Scream Season 3. Everything from the cast, the showrunner and the storyline has changed for the third season. It can also be good news for ones who wanted to watch it but could not because of the continuity. Now they can also directly watch the third season.
The earlier two seasons depicted a fictional town, Lakewood, where a series of murders took place. All those murder mysteries revolve around a character, Emma Duval (Willa Fitzgerald), a teenage girl who has a connection to the town’s shady past.
The new season will focus on a character named Deion Elliot. His past, which comes to haunt him threatens his plans for competitive football in the future. Also, a new cast will deepen the horror mystery. The icing on the cake will be the killer once again wearing the Ghostface mask. It brings the essence of Scream back with the third season.
Why Is Scream Better Than Others In The Same Genre?
If we compare Scream with other horror mystery movies in the ’90s, it will stand out. And there are several reasons for it. An excellent cast including Neve Campbell, who plays the girl next door quite beautifully, Courtney Cox, Drew Barrymore, etc. helped it reach new heights. Another reason was Scream being a meta-horror movie which was very uncommon during the ’90s. And the most threatening part of Scream was the iconic killer mask. That mask enhanced the fear to a new level. It is because of these reasons the show has been such a hit and fans are dying to witness another season.

Scream’s twitter account tweeted a one minute video teasing the third season’s core. The video takes a threatening beginning, and it allows the viewers to see day-to-day life through the killer’s eyes as they hunt their prey. However, after about half a minute in the video, we could witness scenes of Ghostface performing ordinary, routine activities. He or she could be seen eating cereal, scratching his or her foot, and slicing a cucumber. The way to kick-off a new murder mystery through such a promo seems interesting. The fans would also hope for the humor to return in the show along with the sharp plot twists.
Scream Season 3: Release Date
Scream Season 3 will be back on the screens on 8 July, and the fans are ecstatic about this news. For them, it is nothing less than a Thanksgiving. A new storyline also builds up the suspense of what to expect and what not to. Therefore, the viewers can anticipate it is going to be big.

Scream Season 3 will premiere on VH1 instead of MTV. International viewers can watch the show on Netflix. Also, the new cast will include Mary J. Blige, Keke Palmer, Tyler Posey, Tyga, Giorgia Whigham, Jessica Sula, RJ Cyler, Paris Jackson, C.J. Wallace, and Giullian Yao Gioiello.
